IS:1944 and NBC 2016 specify a maintained average illuminance of 25–40 lux for this application, with a uniformity ratio of not less than 0.4 (average:minimum). LED fixtures with 120–150 lm/W efficacy are recommended to achieve these targets within the ESCO-standard energy budget of 15–20 W/m² of illuminated area.
